EWEC lists Taweelah RO as an existing 909,000 m3/day facility and records 297.16 million m3 of production in 2024, with 0.91 million m3/day available at peak from 2023 through 2025. ACWA's marine appendices preserve proposed intake and outfall layouts plus 27.8 m3/s intake and 17.3 m3/s discharge assumptions used during bid-stage modelling. They do not disclose the final as-built route.

Published scope and current milestone

EWEC's current portfolio lists Taweelah RO as an existing 909,000 m3/day facility. Its 2024 Statistical Report records 297.16 million m3 of annual production and 0.91 million m3/day of available peak capacity for 2023-2025. ACWA's current project profile separately lists 200 MIGD, a USD 874 million cost, a 30-year WPA and Q1 2024 commercial operations; its first-half 2023 release records an earlier Group 2 certificate at 183 MIGD. The HR Wallingford appendix says the proposed layouts came from ACWA during bid-stage studies and gives the modelled intake and discharge flows. Together these sources confirm operating output and a marine design trail, but not final as-built geometry, installation quantities, contractor allocation, diffuser acceptance or project-specific current receiving-water performance.

Marine-system delivery and operating implications

The plant has a quantified full-year operating baseline, but production volume alone says nothing about intake reliability, brine recirculation, diffuser condition, receiving-water compliance or maintenance access. Contractors still need current owner geometry and condition data before pricing any inspection, repair or modification.

The HR Wallingford appendix is specific enough to confirm a designed intake and outfall system, but its own wording calls the layouts proposed and bid-stage. Do not convert production or capacity figures into evidence of final pipe lengths, installation quantities, accepted geometry or marine environmental performance. As-built drawings, completion surveys, hydraulic tests, diffuser acceptance and project-specific current plume monitoring remain absent from the reviewed public material.
