Material claims are tied to identifiable records. A source must support the particular asset, package, party, date, quantity, or outcome being described.
Governance
How IMWO governs its public record.
IMWO is responsible for every item it publishes. This page explains what can influence coverage, how evidence is described, how corrections are handled, and where programme-specific decisions are recorded.
Clear attribution
Owner, authority, contractor, consultant, supplier, lender, operator, and independent reporting are identified by role rather than blended into one account.
Editorial independence
Payment, sponsorship, advertising, collaboration, directory inclusion, or the supply of material does not purchase coverage, prominence, or favourable wording.
Correctable record
Records carry dates and source trails. Material corrections and status changes appear on the affected page and, where relevant, in the Project Change Log.
Editorial responsibility
IMWO decides what it publishes.
An external party may provide evidence, request a correction, or identify an omission. It does not receive an approval right over unrelated coverage, ranking, conclusions, or the wording of other records.
Selection
Coverage is selected for relevance to marine works, infrastructure delivery, operating evidence, and the usefulness of the available record.
Claim boundary
A tender is not an award, an award is not mobilisation, completion is not acceptance, and design performance is not an operating result.
Source independence
Several records from one issuer may strengthen chronology but do not create independent corroboration. Company claims remain attributed to the company.
Published accountability
Named appointments, programme decisions, corrections, and material evidence changes are authoritative only when they appear in IMWO's dated public record.
Corrections
A correction starts with the claim and its evidence.
A correction is decided on the evidence. A commercial relationship cannot buy, delay, or suppress the outcome.
- Locate the claim.Provide the page URL and identify the project, organization, statement, status, or attribution in question.
- Provide the evidence.Send official notices, primary documents, operating records, source links, or an attributable statement from a responsible party.
- Allow a response.Where fairness requires it, the affected party may be asked to address the evidence before a material conclusion changes.
- Publish the result.The page may be corrected, clarified, expanded, or left unchanged when the new material does not displace the published basis.
Evidence and attribution
What a reader can infer from a source.
Confidence describes the basis for a claim, not the importance of the project. Source classes identify whose record is being relied upon.

Authorities and procurement
Tender and award notices, contract registers, authority releases, procurement plans, and public project records.
Planning, finance and regulation
Environmental filings, permits, lender documents, planning decisions, concession records, and development approvals.
Project participants
Attributed owner, operator, consultant, contractor, supplier, investor, and financing disclosures tied to identifiable marine scope.
Independent reporting
Dated trade, financial, local, and specialist reporting used with clear attribution and checked against available primary records.
Commercial relationships and conflicts
Support does not confer editorial authority.
These principles apply to sponsors, advertisers, collaborators, contributors, listed organizations, and any future member relationship.
Coverage and payment
No purchased conclusion
Payment or support cannot guarantee inclusion, exclusion, ranking, prominence, a positive assessment, or protection from correction.
Attribution remains visible
Supplied data, photographs, quotations, and performance claims remain attributable to their source and are not treated as independent evidence.
Conflicts and protected information
Declare and step aside
A person asked to make a programme decision must disclose a material employment, advisory, investment, family, or project relationship and must not decide the affected matter.
Do not submit restricted records
IMWO does not ask for privileged, export-controlled, personal, or confidential commercial material through public email or submission routes.
The inaugural Recognition cycle is closed. No jury has been appointed, and IMWO publishes no candidates, finalists or recipients. The Recognition pages contain the programme rules and will carry any future call, appointments and decisions.
Institutional accountability
Who is publicly accountable.
IMWO currently publishes no named governing board, officeholder, editor, adviser or juror. Institutional correspondence is handled through info@imwo.org, and the People page records any appointment IMWO represents publicly.
Current appointments
The People page lists each named appointment, its scope and the institutional route for verification. No named leadership, staff, advisory or review appointment is currently published.
Editorial standards
The Methodology defines how project identity, package scope, party role, dates, quantities, and unknowns are separated.
Programme governance
The Recognition governance page defines jury independence, conflicts and decision safeguards. The inaugural cycle remains closed and no jury is appointed.
