NMPA's official history and facilities pages establish its role as Karnataka's major port authority and harbour operator. Its Marine Department allocation assigns port control, VTS, navigational aids, port craft and mooring, channel and basin depth monitoring, and marine-pollution response within the authority. The June 2026 award statement names the tug-charter consortium and fixes the work-order value and term; the tender places vessel delivery, manning, operation and maintenance with the contractor while NMPA provides the shore-side charging point and monitoring interface. The shipyard, battery supplier and electrical integrator remain unnamed. A work order does not prove design approval, keel laying, completed construction, trials, delivery, port acceptance, service commencement or realised emissions savings.
