DEME's 1 July order establishes a future 22,000 m3 shallow-draft TSHD for dredging, reclamation, port development and offshore seabed preparation. The main structure is planned in China, completion in Singapore and delivery in 2029, so the announcement creates a multi-yard delivery chain rather than available 2026 production capacity.

DEME's 1 July 2026 webpage and technical release confirm the order, 22,000 m3 hopper, shallow-draft concept, intended work types, China main-structure build, Singapore completion, future green-methanol provision, enhanced autonomous-function provision and 2029 delivery target. The investor page and Euronext filing carry the same owner announcement and provide durable disclosure routes, not independent confirmation. The release does not identify the designer, yards, suppliers, class, flag, principal dimensions, dredging systems or trial criteria. DEME's 2025 annual report supplies a separate existing-fleet utilisation measure of 39 weeks. The Nile River page and photograph show an existing 17,000 m3 DEME TSHD in operating context; neither is evidence of the new vessel's design, construction, delivery or performance.

Why it matters

The public release does not name the designer, yards, equipment suppliers, class, flag or principal dredging particulars. Buyers and suppliers should track responsibility and acceptance gates instead of pricing the vessel into current fleet availability or treating lower cost, lower emissions, automation and fuel-flexibility claims as achieved results.

The Chinese hull programme, transfer to Singapore, final outfitting, software integration and crew preparation all precede harbour, sea and dredging trials. Class completion and owner acceptance will establish fleet entry; a first named assignment will then provide initial operating data on production, reliability, fuel use and emissions. DEME's reported 39 weeks of TSHD utilisation in 2025 describes its existing fleet and should not be attributed to the new 22,000-cubic-metre vessel.
