Role in marine infrastructure
NSW Public Works is the state's central infrastructure advisory and delivery agency and the custodian of the whole-of-government construction procurement system. It provides project and programme management, strategic procurement, engineering, assurance and asset services across buildings, transport, water, wastewater, flood risk, river structures, dams and coastal infrastructure. Its 2024-25 review reports 1,690 projects across 48 asset classes, 200 state and local government clients and AUD 4.4 billion of infrastructure. At Warrawong Parklands, the agency managed the open seawall tender and published the AUD 3,814,475 award to Civil Constructions.
