Fleet Delivery
Royal IHC hands 31,000 m³ SEAWAY to Boskalis after sea trial
Royal IHC handed Boskalis' 31,000 m³ TSHD SEAWAY over on 20 July 2026 after a successful sea trial. The handover closes the public construction and delivery sequence within the mid-2026 period stated at order and launch. A first project, operating fuel and measured performance remain unpublished.
20 July handover closes the shipbuilding package
Royal IHC's 21 July 2026 release confirms that SEAWAY was handed over to Boskalis on 20 July after a successful sea trial. The 3 October 2025 release controls naming, launch, dimensions and the post-launch outfitting and testing sequence. Boskalis' 5 March 2026 results provide the last pre-delivery owner status and aggregate capital context; the 2023 Boskalis order and Royal IHC letter of intent establish the custom-build route and original mid-2026 expectation. No cited source identifies a first project, actual operating fuel or achieved production and environmental performance.
First deployment will show where the new capacity enters the market
Delivery transfers the 31,000 m³ hopper from Royal IHC's build programme to Boskalis. The first named mobilisation will show where the added capacity enters the market, while project records will be needed to establish operating fuel, material range, discharge configuration, productivity and emissions.
Evidence conclusion
Sea trial and handover are confirmed; operating evidence is open
Royal IHC's dated delivery notice confirms handover on 20 July after a successful sea trial. The notice omits the trial matrix, class or flag particulars, first assignment, actual fuel choice and measured dredging and environmental performance. Methanol readiness, efficiency and emissions remain design statements until supported by operating records.
