Boskalis SEAWAY 31,000 m³ TSHD
Boskalis' 31,000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger SEAWAY moved from a 2023 custom-newbuild contract to naming and launch at Royal IHC's Krimpen aan den IJssel yard on 3 October 2025. Royal IHC then placed final outfitting and extensive testing ahead of a planned mid-2026 service entry, while Boskalis' 5 March 2026 results still described the vessel as under construction and recorded capital commitments for its completion. Delivery, acceptance, service entry and a first project remained unconfirmed at the 16 July 2026 cutoff.

Royal IHC and Boskalis signed a letter of intent on 5 June 2023 after a co-design and engineering phase, and Boskalis announced the construction contract on 27 October 2023. Boskalis' 2025 results report EUR 564 million of group property, plant, and equipment investment and EUR 237 million of year-end capital commitments relating predominantly to completion of SEAWAY, Windpiper, and four Smit Lamnalco vessels; those aggregate figures do not disclose a SEAWAY contract value.

Royal IHC's 3 October 2025 release confirms the name, christening, launch, principal dimensions, hopper capacity, build location, intended final outfitting and testing, and design characteristics. Boskalis' 5 March 2026 annual-results release is the latest reviewed owner status and still calls the vessel under construction while identifying capital commitments for completion. The 27 October 2023 Boskalis order release controls the dredging and discharge configuration and original mid-2026 expectation. No later Boskalis or Royal IHC delivery announcement was found by the 16 July 2026 cutoff, so delivery, delay, first deployment and achieved performance remain unconfirmed.
