Marine Piling
Castletownbere lands 45% below estimate but leaves the delivery chain blank
DAFM's small craft harbour competition drew three tenders and produced a EUR 1.2498795 million Sorensen award, EUR 1.0251205 million below the estimate. The result sharpens the commercial baseline but still discloses no lower-tier piling, marine plant, civil or utilities contractor.
Three tenders reset the commercial baseline
TED controls the winner, value, tender count, June dates and not-known subcontracting field. eTenders controls the procedure, estimate and duration but retains conflicting April and May dates. Dinish Wharf sources are context only; no 2026 mobilisation, pile schedule, lower-tier contractor or acceptance record was public on 5 August.
The open opportunity is now below Sorensen
The 45.1% estimate-to-award gap makes scope, exclusions, provisional sums and package allocation material, but does not prove final savings. The title includes utilities while the public description confirms only piling and civil works for safe fishing-vessel berthing.
Evidence conclusion
Dates conflict and mobilisation remains unproved
TED confirms Sorensen, three tenders, value, no variant and subcontracting not known, but no lower-tier scope. eTenders displays 24 April award and 1 May acceptance; TED instead records a 16 June decision and 22 June conclusion. Without a commencement record, status remains award.
