Chunnel's signed GBP 2.3 million beach-management contract is now tied to a 100,000-tonne spring 2026 campaign and a GBP 120,000 council purchase order. Measured spring tonnage, the accepted beach profile and formal acceptance remain unpublished.

The contract-details notice confirms signature, supplier, value and term. Council sources confirm funding, the spring 2026 100,000-tonne work cycle and a GBP 120,000 supplier-specific purchase order. They do not publish completion, cumulative spend, accepted profile or the subcontract chain.

Three different measures must stay separate

The record connects procurement to physical coastal operations without collapsing contract value, grant funding, planned volume, campaign tonnage and purchase-order value into one number. That distinction is essential for comparing recurring beach-management contracts and for identifying when a named contractor has moved from award into an evidenced work cycle.

Chunnel is confirmed as the signed principal contractor, and the council's April 2026 order confirms the supplier on the current programme. The March owner release establishes a physical spring campaign but does not publish the final tonnage, machinery roster, beach-profile survey or acceptance. The five-year 160,000 m3 programme measure is not the same as the 100,000-tonne spring instruction.
