Fujairah I signs AED 1.046 billion desalination EPC
Etihad Water and Electricity; exact Fujairah I EPC signing photograph
EtihadWE's development arm has signed the Fujairah I EPC with NMDC Infra and Lantania Aguas. The 60 MIGD scheme includes a submarine intake tower, two GRP intake pipelines and a GRP marine outfall at the Port of Fujairah.
Published scope and current milestone
EtihadWE confirms the EPC signature, AED 1.046 billion total investment, 60 MIGD capacity, Port of Fujairah location, 18-hour storage and approximately 30-month delivery period. Lantania identifies the submarine intake tower, two GRP intake pipelines, GRP marine outfall and NMDC's civil and marine works role. NMDC independently confirms the agreement and value. A notice to proceed, final marine geometry, installation quantities, construction method, accepted testing and commercial operation are not published.
Marine-system delivery and operating implications
The marine works are not incidental to the plant award. NMDC is responsible for civil and marine works and installation, while Lantania handles engineering, key process equipment and start-up supervision. The intake and outfall must carry the full seawater route through a live port interface, but public records still omit pipe lengths, diameters, alignments, landfall method and installation packages.
Evidence conclusion
Testing, acceptance and operating evidence
