Port of Nigg's awarded Eastern Inner Dock Quay links a £30 million-plus heavy-quay investment to the adjacent Sumitomo Electric HVDC cable factory. The 16,000 m² quay will provide a direct production-to-vessel route for large cable systems, Ro-Ro access and additional deep-water operating capacity.

Maraen Port of Nigg confirms the McLaughlin & Harvey award, £30 million-plus total investment, approximately 16,000 m² heavy-duty quay, additional Ro-Ro capability, dedicated cable load-out and export function, and commencement of site preparations. Maraen's final-investment announcement and marine-licence notice establish the approval and revetment-conversion sequence. HIE identifies up to £10 million of grant support and the adjacent £350 million Sumitomo cable factory, with Nigg intended as its primary export facility.
