Dredging
Port Mansfield dredging reaches the GIWW junction
The Willacy County Navigation District says Callan Marine has worked west from the Port Mansfield entrance jetties to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway junction. The next work front is the harbor and turning basin. USCG lists General Bradley and General Marshall on the channel, with floating, submerged and shore pipeline to Bird Island and Padre Island Beach.
What changed
The Navigation District's current update supplies the reported GIWW-junction milestone, contractor, award value and 31 July deadline. USCG independently identifies General Bradley, General Marshall and the pipe and receiving-area interfaces. The USACE permit drawings and Texas GLO work order define earlier design quantities and beach-placement controls; they are not substituted for current measured output or acceptance.
Why it matters
This is a live dredging and material-routing job, not a simple depth headline. Anchors and submerged pipe cross a shallow-draft navigation route; the plant must move through the GIWW intersection; receiving areas sit beside sensitive seagrass, turtle-nesting and shorebird habitat; and current production still has to be tied to survey and placement records.
Decision read
What remains open
The GIWW-junction milestone is credible owner evidence of physical progress, and the Coast Guard notice confirms the named plant and operating controls. It does not establish dredged quantity or accepted grade. The 31 July contract deadline and the mariner notice window through 11 February 2027 should remain separate until USACE or the Navigation District publishes a revised contractual date or close-out record.
