Marine Utilities
Saudi Arabia groups five planned IWPs in one developer qualification
Sharakat is qualifying developers for five future seawater reverse-osmosis plants in a single programme. Ras Al Khair 2, Ras Al Khair 3, Tabuk 1, Shuqaiq 4 and Jazan 1 add to 2.1 million cubic metres per day of planned capacity, with intake and outfall facilities assigned to the future project companies.
One RFQ covers five plants totalling 2.1 million cubic metres per day
The current SWPC qualification material controls the five-project list, planned capacities, expected 2026 launch references and the shared responsibility for seawater intake and outfall facilities. Sharakat's portfolio pages confirm the named projects. None of the cited records establishes an individual RFP, preferred bidder, award, project-specific marine geometry, permit, mobilisation or construction.
Each project company will own its intake and outfall scope
All five projects remain at shared developer qualification, with no awarded marine package. The RFQ assigns seawater intake and outfall facilities to each future project company, while the individual RFPs must define the coastline, intake route, outfall and diffuser, surveys, environmental controls, risk allocation and schedule for each site.
Evidence conclusion
No individual RFP or project-specific marine alignment is published
The five published design capacities total 2.1 million cubic metres per day, but none is under contract or in operation. No cited record publishes an individual RFP, preferred bidder, project-specific marine alignment, permit or award. Those records must be established separately for Ras Al Khair 2, Ras Al Khair 3, Tabuk 1, Shuqaiq 4 and Jazan 1.
