Wills Bros

Dublin Port's €128.7065 million Berths 52/53 contract is well past award. Marine piling began in August 2024, the 2026 harbour notice keeps a buoyed work zone active through January 2027, and Wills Bros lists 232 tubular piles, 57 combi-wall piles and 145 CFA piles across the package.

What changed

Dublin Port's 2026 notice defines an active work zone through January 2027 and identifies the crane barges, tugs, multicat, workboats and landing craft at the site. The 2026 yearbook and May 2025 update define the berth geometry and environmental windows. Wills Bros supplies the package quantities. TED identifies the contractor and €128.7065 million value, but its publication date is not the award date. Completed piling, accepted deck and linkspan systems, formal handover and operating service have not been reported.

Why it matters

Berth 53 is a 290-metre open jetty with nine dolphins, a double-tier linkspan and automated mooring for ferries up to 240 metres. Berth 52 East extends the reclaimed edge into the river and ties the two structures together. The berth can enter service only after the foundations, deck, scour protection, marine furniture, linkspan, power and navigation interfaces are accepted as one system.

What remains open

This is live marine construction, not a 2026 contract award. TED published the result in April 2026 but dates the contract to 25 April 2024; Dublin Port recorded first piles four months later. The current harbour notice confirms the workfront and marine plant, while leaving completed quantities, hydrographic acceptance, berth handover and ferry service unreported.
