Rotterdam has delivered the 500-metre tug quay with 12 berths and shore power, and Hakkers, De Klerk and Van Oord have started the 1,450-metre second phase. The owner now defines 20 new inland-shipping berths, NAP -6.80 metre maintained berth depth, 1.4 million cubic metres of sand dredging and reuse on Maasvlakte 2, a heavy-load zone and about 10,000 cubic metres of geopolymer concrete.

Published scope and current milestone

The Port of Rotterdam Authority's 24 July release is the controlling status and quantity source. It confirms Phase A delivery, names the same three-company consortium for Phase B, and fixes the Phase B berth, depth, dredging, reuse and geopolymer-concrete scope. Earlier owner, annual-report and harbourmaster sources retain the contract and live-channel chronology. The former online-magazine route returned HTTP 500 in the 12 August sweep and was removed rather than preserved as an unavailable technical source.

Port delivery and operating implications

The update turns Phase B from a general start notice into a quantified quay-and-dredging package. It corrects the earlier shorthand of about 30 new berths: the owner says 20 new berths in addition to 10 existing berths. The same release still does not identify dredging plant, measured production, contract price, lower tiers, completion surveys or accepted two-way access for 24,000 TEU ships.

Phase B is now a live 1.4 million m3 dredging and 1,450-metre quay opportunity with a defined maintained-depth target and reuse route. Plant mobilisation, surveyed production and reuse, quay-wall progress, berth and shore-power handover, and accepted NAP -6.80 metre depth will determine when the scope becomes usable infrastructure. The intended two-way 24,000 TEU result and post-2028 Phase C access remain unachieved until nautical and hydrographic records say otherwise.
