Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque is the French state-owned authority for the Port of Dunkirk, a 17-kilometre North Sea port with eastern and western maritime entrances and annual traffic of about 50 million tonnes. Its statutory work joins nautical access, safety and security, port infrastructure, rail and waterway connections, natural-area stewardship, and development of the industrial and logistics estate. The authority employs nearly 400 people and operates through a Management Board, Supervisory Board and Development Council under the French transport ministry. Its current investment programme exceeds EUR 1 billion for 2020-2030 and includes CAP2020, industrial land and intermodal access. Marine responsibilities include maintenance dredging and sediment management, coastal protection, submerged assets, mechanical equipment and owner-side procurement for port works.
