Ardersier sets a £20 million estimate for its Phase 2 dredge

Ardersier Port's Phase 2 dredging notice covers a 140-metre-wide navigation channel beside 300 metres of proposed new quay and 758 metres of existing quay. The authority estimated the package at GBP 20 million and targeted a four-month dredging window from Q2 2028.
Published scope and current milestone
The 27 March 2026 Public Contracts Scotland notice controls the dredging geometry, GBP 20 million estimate, four-stage procurement, PQQ deadline and Q2 2028 target. The separate quay-civils notice controls the adjoining waterfront scope and says dredging is by others. Scottish National Investment Bank reporting and its exact-site photographs establish Phase 1 construction context, not progress on the Phase 2 competition. The 2024 Marine Directorate record applies to the earlier licensed capital dredge and material routes.
Contract packaging and mobilisation implications
The dredging package sits between the new quay wall, the longer existing frontage and live port operations. Its programme must therefore match the separate quay-civils contract, while the final material route and Phase 2 licence still need to be shown in the public record.

Award, mobilisation and acceptance evidence
Prequalification closed on 1 May. The notice expected invitations to tender from 15 May, but no shortlist, ITT or award appears in the reviewed public chain. The GBP 20 million figure remains an estimate. It should not be combined with the GBP 23 million quay-civils estimate or the financing used for earlier port construction.
