Offshore Wind Ports
Cuxhaven's new offshore-wind terminal is in the reclamation phase

DEME's Meuse River is rainbowing sand behind the new quay line at Cuxhaven berths 5-7. The operation is forming part of a 38-hectare heavy-load terminal for wind components after a 2025 piling campaign created a continuous waterside line along the site.
Published scope and current milestone
DEME's 8 April 2026 update identifies Meuse River and the active rainbowing operation. Niedersachsen Ports supplies the 1,250-metre owner footprint, 38-hectare terminal area, construction sequence, 2027 and 2028 concession handovers, and the November 2025 pile counts. DEME describes 1,350 metres of heavy-load quay wall; the owner describes a 1,250-metre project frontage. The measurements are reported separately because the source records do not define a common basis.
Asset delivery and installation implications
The hopper dredger is working inside a tightly linked construction sequence. Quay sections have to be ready before sand filling; reclaimed ground then feeds foundation piles, reinforced concrete, roads and terminal equipment. Niedersachsen Ports has split the operating handover between Cuxport in 2027 and Blue Water Breb in 2028, giving the two concession areas separate delivery dates rather than one terminal completion.
Evidence conclusion
Delivery, handover and operating evidence
The site has crossed from quay-line formation into reclamation in at least part of the footprint. That is a substantial marine milestone, but it does not show that piling has finished everywhere or that the terminal platform is ready for heavy loads. The next proof points are section-by-section fill progress, ground and foundation records, concrete works, terminal fit-out and formal handover to each concessionaire.
