Rocky River Harbor's 2026 maintenance package divides approximately 59,000 cubic yards between two destinations: about 50,000 cubic yards to a nearshore area east of the harbor and 9,000 cubic yards to a designated open-lake area.

What changed

The 27 May 2026 USACE release controls the contract, contractor, total planned quantity, 50,000/9,000 placement split, schedule, authorized depths and sediment-testing statement. The DVIDS story is an official mirror. The 29 May video confirms active mechanical dredging in Rocky River but not final quantities, completed placement or accepted channel condition. The 2024 Work Plan release is limited to earlier environmental coordination and sediment-sampling preparation.

Why it matters

The split affects scow cycles, placement controls and the evidence needed at completion. A total dredging quantity alone cannot show whether the nearshore and open-lake routes were both used as planned or whether the authorized channel was restored.

Delivery still needs three separate records: measured excavation, route-by-route placement and post-dredge channel condition.
