Toledo's two-year dredging contract starts with a 750,000-cubic-yard task order
USACE has converted Toledo Harbor's recurring maintenance need into a two-year, USD 11.1 million single-award contract with Ryba Marine Construction. The issued 2026 task order is USD 5.3 million for approximately 750,000 cubic yards along the Maumee River federal channel. Work is planned from September through December, while the separate USD 5.8 million 2027 task order remains expected rather than issued.
A two-year SATOC now separates award value from annual production
USACE's 10 August story reports the two-year value, Ryba appointment, 2026 task order, contracted quantity, planned window and disposal route. SAM.gov describes the SATOC solicitation and small-business set-aside. The October 2025 factsheet gives the harbor geometry and recurring annual need. None of the cited records establishes 2026 mobilisation, production, completion, acceptance or a 2027 task-order issue. The full river-channel campaign concentrates volume and disposal demand
Toledo requires the largest annual dredging quantity among Great Lakes harbors and must route material through finite confined-disposal capacity. The commercial structure adds another boundary: the USD 11.1 million contract total, USD 5.3 million 2026 task order and expected USD 5.8 million 2027 task order are not interchangeable. Neither planned task-order value proves production or accepted depth.

Field evidence remains at pre-mobilisation
Ryba is the confirmed prime, not a likely bidder. The 2026 package remains at award until plant mobilisation is documented. Once work starts, the operating record must identify the named spread, daily production, actual disposal destinations, measured quantity, post-dredge survey and accepted channel condition. The expected 2027 task order remains outside issued backlog until a separate obligation or award record appears.
