The fisheries-marina repair contract was signed on 14 March 2025 and work began soon after. By 18 November, the project team said the failed arm and corner had been rebuilt with salvaged dolos, filter rock and armour stone, while capping, the final crest, jetty work, access-road removal and navigation-light decisions remained. The Fisheries Division recorded steady progress again on 15 November. A May 2026 readiness exercise confirms that the complex was in use. Final inspection, as-built acceptance and contract close-out have not been published by the owner or lender.

Contract route

Execution window
The November 2025 stakeholder meeting targeted the first week of December for completion. That meeting also recorded unfinished capping, an incomplete 4.1-metre crest, jetty replacement, access-road removal and a later navigation-light decision. No dated owner or engineer notice has confirmed that target as the accepted completion date.

Reconstruct the storm-damaged fisheries-marina breakwater within its original footprint using salvaged dolos at the arm and corner, graduated filter rock and imported armour stone, with double-layer protection around the head and transition to the trunk. The published construction record also identifies capping, a 4.1-metre final crest, jetty replacement, removal of the temporary access road and restoration of vessel turning space.

Hurricane Beryl breached the existing protection in July 2024 and damaged more than 200 fishing vessels at the complex. The World Bank's April 2025 implementation report dates contract signing to 14 March and says work started. Fisheries material dated 1 July 2025 shows reconstruction in progress, and the World Bank's September feature describes imported Norwegian armour rock, underwater alignment and geo-referenced placement. The Fisheries Division's 2025 review says armour stone was securely placed at the head on 15 November. The updated stakeholder plan details a meeting three days later: the arm and corner had been rebuilt with salvaged dolos, filter and armour layers were in place, and capping, the full 4.1-metre crest, jetty replacement, access-road removal and the final navigation-light decision remained. A May 2026 exercise used the complex. The latest official updates do not include a completion certificate, accepted as-built survey or owner handover.
