Kenya Ports Authority awarded TOA Corporation the civil and building package for the DK1 port at Mombasa Special Economic Zone. The approximately JPY 33.5 billion package includes 2.59 million m3 of dredging, 430,000 m3 of reclamation and a 300 m by 50 m steel-pipe-pile and jacket quay. KPA's December 2025 monitoring report records active foundation dredging and cargo-yard works, but no activity in the turning basin, navigation channel or permanent port facilities that month.
