The 8 May 2026 Baltimore District release controls the approximately 15,000-cubic-yard plan, two dredging areas, MURDEN assignment, May window and authorized placement south of the inlet offshore Assateague Island. Its accompanying MURDEN image was taken on 23 November 2025 and is historical context, not May 2026 progress. The Ocean City programme page controls the authorized 10-foot channel, two-foot allowable overdepth, chronic shoaling, funding constraint and relationship between navigation maintenance and the Assateague sediment bypass. The same page describes a proposed 3,360-foot channel realignment and rock structures; that concept remains a proposal and is not reported here as awarded or under construction. A later statement in the May release records nearly 13,000 cubic yards removed in November 2025, superseding the earlier 5,000-cubic-yard schedule for that prior cycle.
