Ghubrah III is a 300,000 m3/day seawater reverse-osmosis plant under construction in Muscat. Its marine system comprises two 2,000 mm intake lines, two 1,600 mm discharge lines, an offshore intake tower and a diffuser. Nama PWP's latest annual report targets commercial operation in Q1 2027. Public construction updates confirm an active site, but they do not quantify installed offshore pipe, tower or diffuser work.

Works package
Deliver the 300,000 m3/day reverse-osmosis plant and its seawater system. PROES identifies two 2,000 mm FRP intake pipelines, each 1,246 m long, leading to an intake tower at -10.5 m MSL, plus two 1,600 mm FRP discharge pipelines, each 1,493.92 m long, leading to a diffuser at about -7.75 m MSL. The four lines total about 5.48 km in aggregate. Savener's intake-building design adds three channels, each with a bar screen, continuous belt filter and control gates.
Marine interfaces
The offshore intake tower, twin intake lines, shore crossing, three-channel screening building, pumps, twin discharge lines and diffuser must be installed, connected and commissioned as one hydraulic system. Survey control, FRP pipe handling, marine access, diffuser placement, tie-ins, flushing and pressure testing, pump wet commissioning, brine dispersion and receiving-water monitoring sit across designer, EPC, marine subcontractor and owner boundaries.
Commercial read
The project-company and EPC awards are already in place. The open market question is remaining specialist execution and close-out rather than a new plant EPC competition: offshore pipe and structure installation evidence, marine survey, diving and ROV support, tie-ins, testing, environmental monitoring and commissioning. No marine installation subcontractor or completion quantities have been published.

Nama PWP signed the project agreement with Capital Desalination Company in February 2024. Its annual reporting says construction began in 2024 and now targets Q1 2027 commercial operation. GS Inima reported four million work hours without a lost-time injury on 4 May 2026, with more than 1,250 workers and subcontractor personnel at the event. That confirms the scale of site activity, not marine completion. PROES publishes the intake and discharge geometry; Savener publishes completion of the intake-building IFC design. Neither design record establishes installed quantities or accepted operation.
