Langstone Coastal Defence Scheme
Havant Borough Council selected Jackson Civil Engineering Ltd for the Langstone Coastal Defence Scheme at GBP 14 million excluding VAT. The approximately one-kilometre scheme combines raised ground and embankments with reinforced-concrete and sheet-piled flood walls, flood glass, gates and demountable defences. The UK6 award notice published on 1 May 2026 recorded an estimated 31 May signature and still described both the award and contract as pending. Coastal Partners separately plans physical works from April 2027 to November 2028, subject to planning, marine and other consents, with winter restrictions protecting overwintering birds.

- Construct approximately one kilometre of continuous defences along the Langstone frontage.
