Tuvalu's Nui and Niutao harbour programme has moved from remote-island civil works into operations after completing two climate-resilient boat harbours with access-channel, basin, jetty, wharf, boat-ramp, passenger, cargo, reclamation, navigation, and safety interfaces.

AIFFP and the Australian Government jointly confirmed on 5 February 2026 that the Nui and Niutao harbour development was complete, with AIFFP identifying navigation-channel upgrades, boat ramps, passenger terminals, cargo sheds, shoreline reclamation, solar lighting, guard rails, signage, and climate-adaptation measures.
