Romania's Maritime Danube Ports Administration is modernising the existing quay in Galati's Port Bazinul Nou as the marine first stage of a wider multimodal platform. The package combines dredging, an 868-metre vertical sheet-pile quay, partial basin infill, ground and platform works and direct ship-to-quay handling space for intermodal loading units.

- Contract route
- APDM signed works contract 11114/27.07.2023 with the Concivia, Vepex Com and Socot association on 27 July 2023. The owner announcement stated RON 205,257,030.09 including VAT and a 20-month works duration. TED's later notices record a RON 172,484,899.23 baseline excluding VAT, then successive duration, technical and price modifications. The latest notice, 361024-2026, states RON 202,019,993.72 and a further 4-month-23-day extension.
- Execution window
- The supervisor issued the works start order in August 2023. APDM reported 62.04% physical progress at 30 June 2025 and recorded several extensions tied to high Danube water levels, construction-authorisation responses, Dana 46 technical revisions and ground conditions. TED then published further extension notices in December 2025 and May 2026. The project page's displayed 31 December 2025 implementation end is therefore not treated as completion evidence.

- Dredge the Port Bazinul Nou basin for safe vessel access; modernise the existing quay for direct loading and unloading of intermodal loading units between ship and quay; build approximately 868 metres of vertical sheet-pile quay; partially fill the basin to create additional berth and handling territory; adapt the foundation solution where field conditions require; and complete the platform earthworks, utilities and level profile. APDM's linked Stage II page attributes 30,051 square metres of new port territory to the Stage I quay investment, but that area is not an accepted as-built measurement.

- The work is being executed in a live Danube port basin and combines dredging, sheet-pile installation, foundation improvement, basin infill, quay construction, utilities and navigation access. APDM tied extensions to high-water levels and permitting responses, while the Dana 46 redesign shows a direct interface between existing ground conditions, quay geometry, execution duration and price.
- Commercial evidence boundary
- The original owner announcement stated RON 205.25703009 million including VAT. TED's July 2025 modification record raised the stated contract value to RON 192.73877751 million, the August 2025 record to RON 202.02126398 million, and the May 2026 record reduced it by RON 1,270.26 to RON 202.01999372 million. APDM separately reports project funding budgets, including RON 219.35603653 million for the 2021-2027 transport-programme stage. These are different ledgers and are not interchangeable with certified work or final account value.
