NMDC Group's marine package for Ruwais LNG covers about 15 million cubic metres of dredging along a 5-kilometre, 245-metre-wide access channel and the installation of navigation aids. An ADNOC Petroleum Ports Authority notice dated 22 February 2025 put the work into phased, round-the-clock execution and mapped the channel, two offshore disposal sites, environmental buoys and a silt curtain. ADNOC still described the overall LNG project as under development in July 2026.

ADNOC awarded NMDC Group a marine dredging contract worth more than USD 200 million in August 2024. The marine package is separate from the approximately USD 5.5 billion plant EPC awarded to the Technip Energies, JGC and NMDC Energy joint venture.
Execution window
The Petroleum Ports Authority notice dated 22 February 2025 described phased dredging operations running 24 hours a day. ADNOC reported in November 2025 that construction, contractor mobilisation and site works were on track for commissioning by the end of 2028, and in July 2026 continued to describe the project as under development with commercial operations scheduled for 2028.

The published marine contract covers removal of approximately 15 million cubic metres over a 5-kilometre channel with a 245-metre width, plus navigation aids. Marine interfaces
The access channel, disposal route, environmental controls and navigation aids must connect a new LNG export berth to the existing Ruwais and Jebel Dhanna port environment. That interface links dredger traffic, disposal management, hydrographic control, temporary markers, permanent navigation aids, berth and jetty readiness, port-authority operating controls and the plant's commissioning sequence.
Commercial evidence boundary
Long-term LNG sales now cover 90% of the planned 9.6 mtpa capacity, but offtake does not demonstrate marine readiness. The project record still needs an accepted channel and berth, commissioned aids to navigation, final disposal and environmental close-out, and operating approval before the 2028 commercial target can be treated as an executable vessel-service date.
