The Czech Waterways Directorate expanded the public recreational marina at Veseli nad Moravou as phase one of the wider Veseli-Vnorovy navigation-loop programme. IDS - Inzenyrske a dopravni stavby Olomouc delivered fixed quay edges, floating fingers, bank works, access, power, water, sewerage, lighting and navigation systems designed by AQUATIS. Thirty berths entered public use in August 2025, with finishing works continuing; the Transport Ministry records 66 operational spaces for the 2026 season. Contract route
The Czech Waterways Directorate tendered the first marina-expansion phase as harbour construction works. IDS signed SML_2024_123 on 18 February 2025 after an original procurement estimate of CZK 70,400,000 excluding VAT. TED fixes the award at CZK 78,399,979.53. Execution window
The owner records physical implementation from 25 February 2025 to 30 April 2026. Works package
The first phase provides 31 designed berths: 29 for craft up to 8 m, one up to 10 m and one up to 20 m. Works include fixed quay edges of 17.7 m, 17.5 m, 53.4 m and 54.5 m; sixteen floating fingers; a 21.6 m by 9.8 m rest platform; a 31.5 m connecting walkway and steel footbridge; bank works; seven service pedestals, four with drinking-water connections; power, lighting, CCTV, navigation marking, marina information, water and sewer connections, landscaping and accessible routes.
Marine interfaces
Delivery combined sheet-pile and reinforced-concrete edge construction with floating berths in an operating inland marina. Published modifications expose recurring brownfield risks: buried concrete from a former weir, timber piles, an old wall footing, weak and poorly reinforced existing viewing-platform walls, unsuitable soil and unexpected sediment, soft founding layers, a deformed DN 400 connection and an erosion-prone exposed bank. Responses included demolition, pile removal, a new anchored concrete footing, imported compactable stone, lawful disposal, pipe replacement and 200-500 kg quarry-rock protection.
