Mali's Landscape Restoration Project is clearing and dredging the Niger River access route to Mopti's boat quay under a World Bank-financed works contract with Entreprise Danaya SARL. The tender baseline requires a route at least 40 metres wide and 2.2 kilometres long, clearance of seven named islands or sand bars, pre- and post-work bathymetry and associated enabling works. The USD 3,277,976.49 contract was signed on 7 November 2024, officially launched on 13 February 2025 and inspected for progress on 6 March 2025. A separate USD 256,342.26 supervision contract is held by SERTAS SARL. No official completion or acceptance record was located through 5 August 2026.

Execution window

The procurement plan displayed a planned completion date of 20 April 2025, but no official completion, provisional acceptance or navigation reopening evidence was located as of 5 August 2026.
Works package
The single works lot covers dredging and sediment clearance along the access route to the Mopti boat quay. The tender requires a navigable corridor at least 40 metres wide over 2.2 kilometres, clearance of islands or sand bars numbered 1 through 7, pre- and post-work bathymetric surveys, execution studies, mobilisation and demobilisation, temporary access or diversions and clearance of kiosks and vendors from the work area. PRTD-Mali later described the launched dredging reach as nearly 3 kilometres; that rounded programme narrative does not replace the contract baseline.
Marine interfaces
The works sit inside a live inland-waterway transport system used by boats and pinasses at Mopti. Delivery therefore depends on survey control, dredging plant access, vessel traffic management, temporary shoreline access, quay-side public interfaces, sediment handling and the post-dredge evidence needed to release a usable navigation route. The related quay rehabilitation and dike-road packages are adjacent works, not part of Danaya's disclosed dredging contract value.
Commercial evidence boundary
The World Bank award record gives USD 3,277,976.49 as the committed works amount and USD 256,342.26 for supervision. The April 2026 procurement plan shows a USD 4,219,672 estimate for the works but leaves the actual amount field at zero; the award record therefore controls the disclosed signed value. The FCFA 4.56 billion announced at the February 2025 launch covers four Mopti work packages and must not be presented as the dredging contract value, paid amount or final account.
