Fujairah I signs AED 1.046 billion desalination EPC

EtihadWE's development arm has signed the Fujairah I EPC with NMDC Infra and Lantania Aguas. The 60 MIGD scheme includes a submarine intake tower, two GRP intake pipelines and a GRP marine outfall at the Port of Fujairah.

Ghubrah III construction targets Q1 2027 operation

Nama PWP still targets Q1 2027 commercial operation for Oman's 300,000 m3/day Ghubrah III plant. The four-line marine system is well defined on paper, but current public updates do not say how much of the intake and outfall network has been installed or accepted.

Rabigh 4 passes its performance test while commercial operation remains unconfirmed

SEPCOIII says Rabigh 4 completed its EPC performance test on 19 February 2026 at the 600,000 m3/day design capacity. It reported power use of 2.712 kWh/m3, falling to 2.659 kWh/m3 after photovoltaic generation. The contractor notice is strong commissioning evidence, but it is not an SWPC commercial-operation certificate.

ADNOC Petroleum Ports Authority notice map showing the Ruwais LNG access-channel dredging area, two offshore disposal sites and environmental markers
Brief / Confirmed

Ruwais LNG channel dredging reached round-the-clock operations

NMDC Group's Ruwais LNG marine package covers about 15 million cubic metres of dredging along a 5-kilometre, 245-metre-wide access channel and new navigation aids. A February 2025 ADNOC port notice shows that phased dredging had entered 24-hour execution, with two offshore disposal sites, environmental buoys and a silt curtain. The disclosed trail ends before final hydrographic acceptance and marine handover.

ACWA bid-stage figures showing the proposed Taweelah IWP seawater intake and intake-outfall pipeline layouts
Brief / Confirmed

Taweelah RO operating record omits the as-built marine route

ACWA lists Taweelah RO in commercial operation from Q1 2024 at 200 MIGD. Its marine appendices preserve proposed intake and outfall layouts plus 27.8 m3/s intake and 17.3 m3/s discharge assumptions used during bid-stage modelling. They do not disclose the final as-built route.

Analysis / Analysis

Taweelah power, desalination and berth interfaces have separate buyers

The same Abu Dhabi industrial coast contains a power project with only cooling-water review in public, an operating 200 MIGD RO plant with a bid-stage marine design trail, and an industrial berth moving from Capesize service toward Newcastlemax. Their buyers, scopes and acceptance histories differ.
